- Joined as employee #1 to rebuild the mobile app for this start-up company. - Designed and built a bespoke back-end database product (hosted in AWS) including a web-based CMS platform (Django) that allowed trainers and all departments to efficiently manage the app and user content. - Grew the user base from 70k users to 500k in just 18 months. - Worked closely with external development teams, managing budgets and ensuring tickets had extensive acceptance criteria and met the definition of ready. Educated the team on delivery processes and consistently ensured developers met the definition of done. - Consistently designed and built innovative new features, optimising performance of the app, owning the agile delivery process, constantly focusing on quality over quantity whilst striving to create the best female fitness app on the market. - Communicated to all departments of the company with regular roadmap presentations, feature analysis demos, sprint reviews & data analysis reports. - Introduced Jira as a development management tool with custom made workflows specific to the needs of the company. Adjusted methodologies from Scrum to Kanban depending on projects. - Integrated a well-known event tracking & data visualisation platform in order to better understand user behaviour and enable data driven decisions. - Integrated a crashlytic software in order to better diagnose bugs/issues and gauge severity. - Collected over 2000 5-star reviews in the App Stores from just one feature release; taking the app's Google rating from 3.6 to 4.8, and iOS from 4.3 to 4.8. - Integrated back-end under-the-hood monitors to ensure the servers were never overworked, API requests had minimal request times and scaled the AWS resources to reduce cost. - Line managed developers & scrum members, helping set OKR’s and took part in regular 1-to-1s / appraisals.
