Andy was commissioned by the England and Wales Environment Agency to develop regional environmental flow indices for determining the suitability of minimum flows for trout (Salmo trutta) and salmon (Salmo salar). The indices were developed through defining relationships between observed salmonid populations and fish survey site hydraulics and flow regimes. The indices have been widely used in the North West of England.
