The internship provided a valuable insight into the workings of one of the most successful marketing companies in the world throughout their summer plan of events, allowing me to gain experience in both the Sport and Culture Communications departments. Working closely under the Culture Communications Manager, I was able to utilise my experience and in turn successfully project lead a number of production shoots for Culture based Red Bull projects. These involved taking care of logistics for cast & crew, troubleshooting on shoots, orchestrating artist interviews and taking care of legal aspects and agreements. As well as assisting with moving image, I also worked with the UK's Social Media Manager very closely on the Red Bull Flow app project. The app is designed for skateboarders and BMXers to video capture their lines and tricks using their smartphone, and then upload the videos onto their social network platforms. It was my responsibility to update the Red Bull Flow Blog three times a week, as well as take on the official twitter account for the project. Thus allowing me to take on the persona of the project, communicating in line with the brand's personality. In the sports team I assisted more with the PR aspect of Communications, writing Press Releases for a number of events including Red Bull Steeplechase. In the run up to Red Bull Soapbox Race, I was involved with publicity photo shoots, briefing photographers and assisting the teams who were being photographed. My experience of working with the press however is not limited to photographers. At Red Bull I had the opportunity to use Gorkana, allowing me to access necessary journalist details and organise information to be sent to them regarding out events and projects. While working in this role it was essential to be flexible and apply your hand to everything that is sent your way. Show less
