      Charged with soliciting, designing, executing and managing manufacturing process based projects for customers with a heavy emphasis on aerospace qualified techniques. Designed and implemented low-cost in-situ automated tool wear imaging technique that reduced the measurement time for one tool from 30 minutes to 1 minute while eliminating operator subjectivity and increasing the fidelity of the data. Has been implemented in extended tool wear studies (4000+ samples).

      Lead Technical Position within this start-up engineering firm. Collaborated with equipment manufacturers to adapt their existing line of equipment to the agriculture sector.       Investigated effectiveness of using an insulator to preheat the area in front of friction stir weld tooling to decrease wear. Modeled thermal behavior of process using Siemens NX FEA software and torque based heat input model. Designed and implemented data acquisition scheme using LabView, capturing force and temperature data. Analyzed data using Microsoft Excel and found correlation between increase of the temperature affected zone in front of the tool and a decrease in force output. Awarded a grant to present research at the 2015 Emerging Researchers National Conference.
