Do zadań Komisji należy wyrażanie opinii środowisk prawniczych w sprawach dotyczących funkcjonowania prawa w Rzeczpospolitej Polskiej, a w szczególności: 1/opracowywanie ogólnych kierunków zmian w prawie ustrojowym, prawie cywilnym i prawie karnym; opracowywanie założeń oraz projektów aktów prawnych; 2/ wyrażanie stanowisk i opinii w sprawach związanych z systemem prawnym.
