Andrew is a highly adaptable, detailed, and empathetic leader who has consistently modeled the skills to successfully implement innovative projects in ambiguous work environments. As the CEO of the USA Pavilion at the 2012 World Expo in South Korea, Andrew set the gold standard for the management style I’ve sought out in every subsequent workplace since my time serving as a student ambassador intern under his mentorship. He has the rare ability to simultaneously focus on big picture results, operations, and stakeholder engagement, while also taking the time to actively listen to and guide every person he manages, invariably embodying his belief that ‘no task is too big or too small, regardless of title.’ Andrew’s ability to foster team cohesion and boost morale under challenging circumstances, was one of the many reasons I wanted to work with him again during the 2017 World Expo in Kazakhstan, where he gave me the opportunity to serve as the Director of Public Diplomacy for the USA Pavilion, 2017. Under his leadership as our Executive Director, our second USA Pavilion and public private partnership with the US Department of State, was a success. I attribute the success of fast paced and complex projects such as these, to the fact that Andrew genuinely cares about the personal and professional growth of his colleagues and those he supervises. His prioritization of psychological safety, growth mindset, and inclusion taught me what responsible and effective leadership looks like. This is both motivating and the absolute baseline for creativity, innovation, and teamwork, which was evident in the way he guided us towards effective solutions and in the measurable impact he empowered us to create. Any team would be lucky to have a versatile leader like Andrew on board.
