PHD Researcher

Oct 2016 - Apr 2021
As a PhD researcher in the 3D Nanomagnetism group at Cardiff University, my work primarily focused on creating, measuring, and simulating 3D magnetic nanostructures. During this time, I was lead author on a high-impact publication in a scientific journal, and collaborated on a number of further published studies. I have also represented my research group at domestic and international conferences, presenting to other field experts.

Summer Placement
-
Jun 2016 - Sep 2016
Having developed a mobile application during my final year project at Cardiff University, I was asked by the university to continue this work into the summer vacation in the form of a paid placement. The main purposes of this placement have been to develop the application further as well as to publish the application to the app store and Google play store. This will then act as an educational tool for future first year physics students of the university.

Kitchen Assistant
-
May 2014 - Sep 2015
I spent the Summers of 2014 and 2015 working in the kitchen of a local restaurant. My main responsibilities included: preparing salad and desserts, maintaining the salad cart (i.e. restocking/cleaning), running the pot wash. This often involved working under a severe amount of pressure with demanding time constraints whilst I consistently maintained very high standards of quality.
