I am a lawyer specialising in insurance / reinsurance and commercial dispute resolution. I have represented London and international insurers and reinsurers for nearly 25 years, on matters in over 30 jurisdictions, in nearly every class of business. I head our specialty team which focusses on political risk & trade credit, political violence, specie. I also handle matters in all classes of insurance including property, engineering, construction, professional indemnity and other lines domestically and internationally, with an emphasis on coverage. I advise on coverage, subrogation, liability defence and regulation. I have a broad general commercial disputes practice, including by way of litigation, arbitration and mediation. Many cases have international aspects. Having worked at two US firms I am particularly familiar with transatlantic issues, including on the taking of evidence in the UK for US proceedings. Typical cases involve breaches of contract, tort, injunctions, frauds, and enforcement. “Andrew Tobin is very personable and easy to work with; he has the ability to make complex matters of law sound relatively simple. He is very responsive and makes himself available at short notice, and I’m confident of obtaining the best possible outcome on anything he’s involved with.”- Legal 500 2022/3 "Andrew Tobin is an outstanding member of the team ... His warm, affable manner is matched with an astute, independent mind which combines legal insight with commercial good sense... The practice has breadth but Andrew's work in the political risk and credit spheres has been of particular note." - Legal 500 (2022) "Solid, dependable, responsive and fully engaged in seeking the targeted outcome desired for his clients." I am Chairman Emeritus of the Lloyd’s Flyfishing Society. Show less
