In my role as Marketing Manager at Bickford's, I was responsible for the strategic marketing of the company's non alcoholic brands as well as the execution of brand plans. My achievements at Bickford's included the successful creation and launch of multiple new brands and products, including Aqua Pura Fruit Splash, Bickford's Ice Tea Cordials, Bickford's Milk Shake Mixes as well as new fruit juices under the Bickford's brand and new cordials such as Lemon Lime & Bitters. Other significant achievements included new proprietary glass bottle and labeling for Bickford's Old Style Sodas and the inclusion of Bickford's Lime Juice Cordial onto the official SA list of heritage icons.

In 1995 I had the opportunity to work with Dr Mike as Research Director, helping to set up his Sydney base in Chatswood. In my role as Research Director, I had the responsibility of business development, client management and focus group moderation and reporting. For nearly 20 years, I worked closely with Dr Mike as his focus group moderator of choice, conducting over 500 focus groups across Australia, uncovering insights to help governments both state and federal, as well as large corporates.

United Distillers Australia ( Now Diageo) was the Sydney based, Australian head office for the world's largest spirit company. My role as Marketing Manager included responsibility for the marketing of all the Company's non scotch brands. I also managed a small team of Brand Managers. My major achievement involved creating a world first whereby Cola Cola agreed to a joint promotion with an alcoholic beverage - Rebel Yell Bourbon. Brands Rebel Yell Bourbon and Coke, paired up in the promotion of Gun's & Rose's Eastern Creek concert.

The South Australian Brewing Company was at that time South Australian based, owned and managed. It was and still is the market leading supplier of beer in South Australia. My role as Brand Manager for West End and then Senior Brand Manager came at a time now known as the "Australian Beer Wars" when gentlemen's agreements regarding interstate territories fell by the way side and marketing warfare got serious. My role was to manage the company's brands and brand management team to ensure that the business held its market share during a period of intense pressure from larger interstate rivals. My greatest achievement during my tenure was the successful launch of West End Eagle Blue which created history as the first low alcohol beer to ever achieve out right market leadership in a regional packaged beer segment, anywhere in the western world. My first TV campaign for West End Export involved John Swann and the West End Girls. This ad was the first beer commercial to use "Coca Cola" lifestyle imagery and achieved international recognition and acclaim, not to mention double digit sales growth.
