Trained Panamanian and Canadian students; contributed to project planning for new restoration projects.• Currently investigating adaptation of forests and forestry to climate change, with the goal of developing novel adaptive forest management strategies for Canada.• Raised over $250,000 in research funds over 7 years, resulting in 12 publications, presentations at international conferences, three graduate theses, and five honours projects. • As member of Strategic Planning Committee, produced comprehensive plan that determines the strategic direction of the Biology program. The plan will lead to a streamlined curriculum, and enhanced interdepartmental cooperation over the coming decade.• Successfully negotiated two collective agreements as member of Faculty Association executive, resulting in improved salaries and benefits, and reduced teaching loads for faculty and instructors.• Hired tenure-track faculty as member of Departmental Personnel Committee, and chaired recent tenure application hearings.
