Working as a Graduate Systems Engineer in Martin-Baker I have been exposed to a wide range of different activities. I have gained experience in creating requirements and working with customers to reword and alter existing requirements. I have also carried out verification activities and produced verification arguments using a range of historical and project specific evidence. As part of these verification tasks I worked with the customer and with other teams within the company to develop testing and qualification plans to address requirements which did not have sufficient evidence available. The requirements and verification work was conducted using a model based systems engineering tool called EA. I have also carried out performance predictions and modelling using in-house software to predict the entire system performance and to determine what effect modifications may have on overall system performance. Throughout my time at Martin-Baker I have produced performance prediction reports, systems verification reports and a range of other supporting documents in the form of technical notes and memorandums for internal and external use. I have also had the opportunity to work closely with and present to customers. As part of a project, I was responsible for producing a document which laid out requirements for a proposed modification, collated available historical verification evidence and provided the customer with an appropriate test plan to achieve qualification of the proposed modification. This task involved working with teams across the business and working closely with the customer to ensure the document provided all the information they required. This short project finished with a presentation to the customer including answering on the spot questions. Show less

Summer Placement within the future projects structures team at Rolls Royce plc. where I gained experience in modelling and analysis. This modelling task involved conducting open source research and developing a 1D model of a representative aircraft. I then used the model to carry out vibrational analysis to capture the accelerations at key points of interest throughout the airframe model. This modelling and analysis task was carried out using Nastran. Summer Placement within the future projects structures team at Rolls Royce plc. where I gained experience in modelling and analysis.
