Maintained a current ventilation model in Ventsim as per legislative requirements. Conducted gas analysis and trending of the mine atmosphere to ensure a safe environment was present for underground personnel. Provided reports of the results to senior management, Mines Inspector and workforce. Conducted short and long term ventilation, gas and goaf drainage planning for mine production cycles. Calculated vent quantities for mine production cycles given variable gas composition results and other mining activities. Being a three-seam operation there were significant vent and gas management issues to consider. Managed the goaf gas drainage program for the mine, including gas composition analysis and adjustments to the plant operation to maximise gas capture. Being a three-seam operation, this demanded considerable analysis post change to assess the effectiveness of any adjustments. Managed various surface projects including the nitrogen inert gas generator, tube bundle gas analysis systems and the gas chromatograph system.
