  Responsibilities: • Developing scripts at short notice for breaking news stories, often relating to sensitive and complex issues such as court cases or public deaths • Evaluating hundreds of press releases and news stories each day to decide what content is important, giving a unique understanding of which news releases effectively promote the work of an organisation • Providing advice and media training to guests to maximise their ability to communicate effectively in the media • Create and develop engaging social media posts • Writing and proofreading news articles for digital communications channels • Dissecting and synthesising media reports to ensure the team is fully briefed • Identifying emerging issues in the daily media in order to make decisions on how to cover them • Creating presentations for weekly meetings to keep other staff abreast of progress on projects underway • Having the ability to respond quickly when news breaks and be flexible and adaptable to change the entire rundown of the show at a moments notice • Tailor scripts and the presentation of stories to different audiences • Work collaboratively in a team environment involving different departments across production, engineering and management • Share information between teams to help our other shows succeed and eliminate duplicated work • Use technology to achieve desired outcomes including cloud based software and social media aggregators
