    • On-Call Substitute Teacher
      • Feb 2013 - Jan 2021

Presently employed as a substitute teacher in Stoughton, Rockland, Weymouth, Bridgewater-Raynham, Marshfield, Randolph, Silver Lake Regional, Avon, Hanover, and Norwell Public Schools. From a professional standpoint, being a substitute teacher for the last five full years despite being legally disabled has given me a vast well of experience to draw from, especially in terms of school resources and developing and refining my own classroom management skills. This is partially because I work with both middle school and high school students, so I am used to being tested in different ways, both from getting away with activities that violate classroom or school procedure, and/or students who refuse to do work, or who used technology to distract from or avoid dealing with the task-at-hand. With regard to the comment about school resources, working in so many schools ranging from urban to suburban to rural, and from affluent to working-class, I see what technology allows certain schools to do, along with the problems that it can cause. But then conversely, I see how schools who lack such resources are able to offset or compensate for this with passionate & dedicated teachers. Show less
