I returned to Longview in April 2021 in a more senior capacity having been asked to return to continue where I'd left off previously. In this new role, the four key responsibilities include: 1) Research: Responsibility for the creation, analysis and writing of a new "Quant Monthly" product, which digs into big data to answer key market and macro questions. In addition, I play a key role in deep dive analysis, model generation, and data visualisation for other key research pieces across a number of asset classes and timeframes. 2) Marketing: Since returning, I've developed Longview's marketing strategy to increase distribution to the digital retail channel. I've managed the reconstruction of Longview's website, and distribution processes to facilitate that transition. I manage the marketing budget, and run E-commerce campaigns on social media, with A/B testing to optimise strategy. 3) The creation, management and evolution of Longview's proprietary suite of models. This includes data capture and cleaning (either through API, web scraping, or various data platforms), data manipulation, and production of relevant, timely and professional visualisations (e.g. charting, dashboarding, presentations). 4) Team management: I managed the project of hiring three new starters at Longview, from identifying the business needs through to induction. I now manage them on a day to day basis. Show less

At Liberty, I worked across departments and teams to increase reporting timeliness and accuracy, improve business process efficiency, and provide the sales and buying teams valuable customer-specific and industry insight. I scoped, developed and launched Liberty's new BI reporting system, overseeing the move away from Excel/email reporting onto Web/Mobile Power BI. I improved business processes in the Finance, Credit Control, Marketing, Shipping and Customer Services teams, upgrading the technology used in daily/weekly tasks (using SQL, Power Query, Power Pivot and VBA, amongst others). I was responsible for the manipulation, cleaning, sorting and outputting large data sets of market data (e.g. Nielsen, CGA) and creating clear and actionable insight through presentations to sales teams or current/prospective customers. I played a major role in the annual budgeting process, and modelling the phasing of sales - a key input for the finance and supply planning teams. My love for, and knowledge of, wine certainly developed through my time at Liberty. I studied for and passed my WSET Level 3 Award with Merit. Show less

I worked in a small team producing independent Global Macro analysis and investment & trading recommendations. My key specialisation was in development and operation of models - both technical/trading models and economic supply/demand models. I took charge of a monthly research note on China, with in-depth research into various macro drivers (including: housing, banking & shadow banking, consumption, earnings, demographics etc). I played a key role in the publications of the Daily RAG - a morning research note giving an overview of global markets movements, economic and political events, key macro data releases and the messages generated by our proprietary models. Other tasks/roles included a monthly models-driven Global sector analysis presentation, a weekly summary of speculative positioning in key asset classes, producing a weekly diary of key macro data and economic events, as well as developments of ad-hoc special event models (e.g. around the US election and Fed FOMC meetings).
