Whilst the first phase of study was completed successfully I was able to delay the need to implement the project by 10+ years through a concomitant review of the base case option. This aspect of the project re-visited the premise that the expansion was needed to support current production levels, by demonstrating that a change to the current mine plan could significantly change the ore delivery profile. Development of this alternative strategy saved the company $00s millions by deferring capital expenditure and avoiding operating costs. Show less
