Manager Mine Expansion Project
-
May 2007 - Feb 2008
Managing a 9 month study into a $350m mine expansion. Whilst the first phase of study was completed successfully I was able to delay the need to implement the project by 10+ years through a concomitant review of the base case option. This aspect of the project re-visited the premise that the expansion was needed to support current production levels, by demonstrating that a change to the current mine plan could significantly change the ore delivery profile. Development of this alternative strategy saved the company $00s millions by deferring capital expenditure and avoiding operating costs. Show less

Manager, Mine Services
-
Sep 2006 - May 2007
Responsible for mine planning, bulk water and electricity supply, roads, rehabilitation and supplementary mining. This was a large team of >400 people and contractors with multiple facilities spread over 80km with a very large fleet of dozers, excavators, articulated dump trucks, graders and other specialist HME. I was also required to mentor my designated replacement, who was coming from a previously disadvantaged background, to take on the role after 9 months and I was successful in this regard. Show less
