Oregon Tool is a global company with a portfolio of brands specialising in professional grade precision cutting tools for forestry, lawn and garden; farming, ranching and agriculture; and concrete cutting and finishing. My role is to assist our UK and Sweden subsidiaries who operate in the forestry, lawn and garden division. RESPONSIBILITIES • Managing month-end close processes, including calculating adjustments, accruals, and prepayments to ensure accurate financial reporting • Processing supplier invoices accurately and efficiently, maintaining positive relationships with vendors and ensuring timely payments. • Conducting credit control activities, generating aged debt reports, and following up on outstanding debts. • Facilitating weekly payment runs, verifying accuracy of payments. • Utilizing Concur to review and verify expense reports. • Communicating with customers and vendors to address queries and disputes. • Preparing and submitting VAT returns for both UK and Sweden. • Preparing and submitting Intrastat reports for Sweden. ACHIEVEMENTS I was selected by our finance director to provide support for our German subsidiary to help drive efficiency in accounting processes. I introduced a reconciliation process that resulted in a significant time saving of 6 hours a week. With this time saving, team members were able to keep on top of their workload and add value in other areas of the business. I also spearheaded a project to install a freight cost data management system in our German subsidiary which led to greater insight, visibility and control over our freight costs. I am passionate about continuous improvement and through improving processes within my own task list I have driven efficiency and reduced processing times for many of my key duties. This has resulted in a complete time saving of 18 hours a month. This allows me to run two separate accounting departments efficiently whilst being able to effectively collaborate with other departments. Show less

    • Interim Financial Controller
      • Feb 2018 - May 2018

Covering maternity leave, I led the finance function for the UK in a very busy period for our business. My key achievements during this time were: • Being the key contact for our annual external audit, preparing documentation and organising walkthroughs between the auditors and team members. • Leading the annual budget, collaborating with management to deliver a realistic budget. • Leading the installation of an expense system, Concur. I ensured the system was mapped to allocate costs accurately and be reimbursed appropriately. Whilst also providing training and ongoing support to all users. • Reviewing and completing the renewal of company insurances. Overall, my experience as the interim financial controller has given me a great opportunity to know what to expect from such a position in the future. Show less
