SNOC Engineer
-
Apr 2018 - Present
As an engineer in a Secure Network Operations Centre, I have been a part of maintaining and supporting various Linux and Windows servers, as well as VMWare (and Dell DRAC) and Supermicro virtual machine hosts. I also write various SQL scripts to find and update data. As it is essential for the platform to run well, I write and execute multiple test scripts for any new hardware or software. This includes checking integration with other tools, hardware functions, software functions and customer visibility functions. This has required me to have a good understanding of all new equipment on the platform. I have also supported and run troubleshooting for Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls.

Service Delivery Engineer
-
Aug 2015 - Sep 2016
I provide first line video conferencing support for a high profile client as part of their contract with Yorktel. This involves troubleshooting and investigating faults, logging tickets, finding a resolution to all faults and reporting daily on the use and performance of the on-site equipment and infrastructure. Since the start of this role I have created Process Documents that explain how to perform the typical tasks of a Service Delivery Engineer, improved the way the clients Video Conferencing Reports (daily, weekly and monthly) are created and have begun training for the Extron and Polycom Courses and Exams. Doing these courses has taught me key areas of video conferencing, such as how the protocols used in video conferencing work and how AV equipment can be incorporated into a video conferencing room to suit a particular requirement.

In House AV Technician
-
Aug 2014 - Aug 2015
As an in house technician I have performed a variety of roles in sound, video, lighting and administration - these all required skills in troubleshooting and problem solving. I have taken on managerial roles in meeting potential clients to discuss their needs and how we can cater to them. Alongside this I have also covered for a manager on annual leave in another venue. Great communication and sharing ideas with the team has helped to get the best results possible. Knowing what everyone else is already doing and what they intend to do next helps give me an idea of what task to approach, whether helping someone on a current task or undertaking one of my own.
