      I do research into making well built and reliable paper based Microfluidic point of care testing devices. These devices will be able to measure the level of collagen in your urine to see if your skin or organs are functioning correctly. Another use is to detect cholera in water.       1. Maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of basic (and advanced) laboratory instruments/facilities. 2. Assist in ensure compliance with OSHA (with regards to proper storage and handling of chemicals), the EPA (developing ways to dispose of nasty chemicals, pathogens, biohazardous waste, etc. in compliance at the state and federal level), CDC (knowing what pathogens we had for research purposes and how to properly disposed of them), FDA (proper labeling of reagents and knowing the difference between chemicals and reagents), etc.3. Maintaining and keeping track of the chemical, instrument, and reagent inventory complete with updating SDS(Safety data sheets). 4. Development of Standard operating procedure(SOP) for instrumentation, tasks, and anything else necessary. 5. Directing, coordinating with, mentoring, and training other lab technicians. 6. Any other task really as they came up like responding to chemical spill or whatever was going on that day. Show less
