Individual Research Thesis: To design, Wind Tunnel (WT) test and use Computational Fluid Dynamics to test methods in creating front downforce on the ‘DrivAer’ reference model. Details: • Designed Splitters and Strakes in Catia V5, where the Strakes were 3D printed. • WT tested in Cranfield’s 8x6 WT with a strict time constraint with a self-made test program. • CFD Validation with Baseline ‘DrivAer’ model using Star-CCM+. • CFD tested other front configurations with the splitter and strakes. Modules: Computational Fluid Dynamics – Meshing in ICEM and Simulation in Ansys Fluent.
