Manage all aspects of the technical program at LEBWCO. Lead a team of 14, which includes full-time, part-time, per diem employees, and interns. Responsible for adapting new procedures in an ever-changing industry, writing SOPs, and training staff. Create and manage AOC, processing, CEBT, laboratory, and recovery schedules accounting for up to 200 time slots to be covered per month. Hire new employees as needed as well as manage disciplinary actions when appropriate. Troubleshoot issues that arise with new systems, microscopes, technology, personnel conflicts, etc. Interfacing with new clients, surgeons and collaborating with other eye banks. Lead contact for research conducted through universities such as Ohio State and West Virginia.

Research new procedures, techniques and equipment to keep LEBWCO on the cutting-edge of eye banking. I coordinate cornea and whole globe recoveries, talk donor families through the tissue donation process and complete all family paperwork, evaluate tissue for transplant and perform all aspects of medically releasing tissue for transplant. I also share the clinical processing responsibilities at the eye bank which currently includes DSAEK and DMEK.
