June 2013 to date – South Caucasus Pipeline Expansion Project (SCPx), Georgia/Azerbaijan – Senior Instrument Engineer responsible for 3 off Custody Metering Packages from specification stage through to delivery (with full responsibility for bid clarification, contract award, document review, progress meetings, FAT). These were for installation in Georgia. 2 units incorporating multiple 24” meter tubes (single chamber orifice fittings), Instrumentation, gas chromatographs and H2S, H20 and HC Dewpoint, analysers housed in a purpose built Analyser house, HVAC unit, F&G detection and Metering Control Panel. The 3rd unit was an upgrade of an existing unit for which I was also responsible including a week long site survey in country. Other responsibilities included development of purchase orders for cable, tubing and fittings and pressure, diff pressure and temperature transmitters from specification stage through to order placement. I was also responsible for overseeing the Instrumentation for various mechanical packages such as Instrument Air compressor package, N2 generation and Water treatment from bid stage through document review, Hazop and FAT. These packages were all controlled by the ICSS (main control system) so providing information to the ICSS provider (ABB) was vital to the successful operation of these interfaces, key documents being the P&IDs, I/O schedule, C&E diagrams, FDS and logic diagrams. I attended all SIL assessment meetings operating the SIFpro software. Follow on work included completing the SIF design, client discussions and producing a final SIL Assement report for issue to the Project and Client. Mar 2008 – Nov 2010 – Statoil NGL Metering and Double Inlet Crossover Projects– Initially responsible for developing Control Systems (CS) aspects of Class D estimate. After Contract award I was made CS Lead engineer for the Project, responsible for all aspects of new and existing systems modification and expansion for the PCDA, PSD, ESD, HIPPS and F&G systems development. All documents were required to be in accordance with StatoilHydro Technical and Operational Requirements and Guidelines (TORG) and associated documents such as TRs (Technical Requirements) and Norsok standards. The existing Control System (ABB Maestro) was being modified to an ABB Melody system with 800xA HMI. PSD and F&G systems upgraded to ABB AC800M Hi and the ESD and HIPPS Hima H51q type. Also included in the Project upgrade was P&F Remote I/O, Field Barriers and Segment Couplers all connected using either Profibus Fibre Optic networks via FO converters and patch panels, Ethernet or modbus. I was responsible for managing the work of up to 4 other engineers plus attending regular scheduling and technical meetings and FATs towards the end of the Project. Show less
