      I had responsible for the delivery of future tri-Service Technical Documentation Policy, consistent with current MOD strategies for Technical Information. Including the maintenance and development of current Technical Documentation Policy and the delivery of detailed and well researched future policy proposals. • As a S1000D SME I represented MOD UK at the Steering Committee which maintained S1000D.• I monitor and appraise appropriate Tech Docs standards including emerging technologies in the wider Tech Docs communities to exploit and delivering those advantages to the MOD. • As a Technical Documentation SME within TLS TD Policy & Advice, I represented UK MOD TLS TD on Tech Docs Policy and Standards issues. I worked with all branches of Defence Equipment & Support, Project Offices, Contractors, other Service Departments and MOD establishments on Tech Docs requirements. • I had responsibility for updating TLS Tech Docs Policy Guidance documents and Tech Docs standards where TLSD had ownership.       Primary purpose as a SME and member of TLSD Tech Docs Policy and Advice Section was to engage in the development and promulgation of the then current, future graphics policy and standards and the provision of project specific graphics advice. With responsibility for updating Tech Docs Policy Guidance documents and UK MoD Technical Documentation standards where Head of Specialism for TD had ownership.• Wrote JSP(D)543 Technical Illustration for MOD Techical Documentation.• Organised, produced and deliver the Tech Docs Policy and Advice website.• Introduced colour and photographic standards to AECMA S1000D.• Co-wrote the new Illustration and Multimedia chapters in S1000D chapter 3.9.2 in version 2.3 released Feb 2007.• Negotiated Graphical Harmonisation of S1000D and iSpec 2200 to attain greater efficiency in the exchange of Civilian and Military Illustration files.• Developed UK MOD Policy on the Use of Colour, Photography and Multimedia in an electronic environment.• Provided guidance documentation and risk assessment reports on the emerging new standards e.g. Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) and ZAML.• Influenced the international development of WebCGM Document Object Model.• Attended ATA GWG meetings as nominated by the International AECMA community to represent them on the Computer Graphics Metafile Open Technical Committee.Highlights:Sept 2002 - Awarded an Air Transport Association of America Spirit Award for my dedicated skill and enthusiasm which was instrumental in the success of the Graphics Working Group to deliver a major update of iSpec 2200 specification. (as Co-Chair)Sept 2004 – Representing MOD UK at the W3C 3rd Annual Conference on Scalable Vector Graphics at the Keio University-Mita in Toyko.Delivered new Multimedia Chapters in ASD S1000D v2.3January 2007 – Delivered WebCGM 2.0 Standard as a member of CGM Open making a significant contribution to the final specification and was acknowledged for this in the paper.
