Carbon-12 (C12) formed in 2015 from the team of green entrepreneurs, engineers and regulatory experts who built a unique Combined Heat and Power plant at Beckton in London. The £100m project uses waste oils as fuel to produce 18MW of renewable power via private wire to Europe’s biggest sewage works and heat into the network which delivers 40% of London’s gas. If one of the world’s great capitals trusts us with embedded renewable generation for critical infrastructure, then so can you. Now we are building and developing low carbon data centres. We have planning permission for our first 27MW site in Enfield (now operated by Google) and are in advanced negotiations over additional sites in London and just outside the M25. Given that power typically accounts for around half the operating cost of running a data centre, C12’s ability to discount power price and fix it over the long term (10-20 years) gives us the most competitive operating cost base in the market and the lowest TCO for metro based Cloud hosting. For Hyperscale clients in the 3-30MW range with 1-3kW/m2 power densities, we are also the most scalable and flexible. Powered shell? Fitted space? A hybrid of both? Your choice. An ability to ramp into space over time is one of the factors that sets us apart. Additionally, our power price advantage allows us to leverage certainty over term with space rental and network charges. This enables you to forecast, plan and deploy with an accuracy that simply isn’t achievable via traditional vendors who have no control over the long-term price they pay for power. The second site is nearing sale. 4 more to go.

2OC is a renewable energy generator and facilitator. In 2007 we created a joint venture with National Grid (NG) to generate heat and power at gas pressure reduction stations (PRS). NG committed over £450m to develop the first 8 implementations of 2OC's patented technology. Unfortunately, as a result of the Third Package - an EU change in regulation, - NG were not able to continue in the joint venture. Thankfully, 2OC were able to recover the ownership and strategy in the UK and are currently building the first power plant at Beckton in London at a cost of £76m. Beckton will be commissioning in late 2014 and online in the summer of 2016. (click on photo below) The plant will supply renewable power and heat to Europe's biggest sewage works and London and the UK's only desalination plant (owned by Thames Water). 2OC has a £200m Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Thames and will also be supplying renewable heat into the PRS which supplies 40% of London's gas. The company has now been sold.
