Chief Operating Officer of Advisory & Markets (East Africa)
-
Jan 2016 - Sep 2017
Led a major restructuring of KPMG's Advisory business across East Africa, responsible for a sales force transformation across all business units, and opened an office in Ethiopia. I learned how important it is to recruit, retain, and develop people. I also fulfilled a lifelong dream of owning a Land Rover Defender. This provided many cultural experiences with local mechanics in rural Kenya and Tanzania as it had 300,000 kilometers before the odometer stopped working.

Global Executive (Chief of Staff) of Infrastructure, Government, and Healthcare (IGH)
-
Dec 2013 - Dec 2015
I was going for a promotion and looking for an opportunity to live overseas. I got both in a stretch role based in London looking after the IGH sector. After getting the job as a Manager I had the opportunity to work for one of the best bosses imaginable. I got pulled into projects and conversations with the highest levels of KPMG globally and given the room to grow. I was promoted to Senior Manager in October 2015.

Management Consultant
-
Jun 2007 - Nov 2013
Learned the ropes of core consulting skills coming up the ranks starting as an Intern. Traveled to some exotic (Zanzibar) and non-exotic (Wichita) locations, worked for lots of different clients, spent long hours grinding it out, and came out the other side with a few battle scars, loads of anecdotes, and more experience than I ever could have imagined at such a young age. PS. Short sleeve suit jackets are a thing in Malawi!
