● Worked closely with clients and suppliers to conduct design reviews, establish new project goals and offer feedback on project feasibility, risks and design options. ● Communicated with and prepared documentation packages for manufacturers to request quotations for prototyping, tooling, production, and assembly of products. ● Documented all engineering and product development efforts with an ISO 9001 & 13485 quality management system and SolidWorks Enterprise PDM. ● Designed hundreds of plastic components for injection molding and blow-molding with an emphasis on mold simplicity, as well as dozens of sheet metal components. ● Worked extensively with SolidWorks to create complex 3D models and assemblies, modify existing 3D CAD, simulate system motions, and check for interferences. ● Created detailed drawings for parts and assemblies in addition to exploded views, and bills of material. ● Created a complex assembly for automatically handling plastic film and cutting it with a die press. The project involved working with several outside companies to integrate their equipment. ● Purchased and installed a 3D printer and CNC milling machine to streamline prototyping and reduce costs. ● Worked closely with industrial designers to refine the look and feel of products.
