  I was the first intern in the IT department at Ruan. During my 11-week tenure there, I was dedicated to creating a new web application for the company's internal website. My particular app was built to help solve a problem of having multiple duplicate client companies in their database. The app merged duplicate companies into a single one considered the "source" and changed all references of those extra companies to the source company. If a mistake was made, the entire process was also reversible reversible, and a full log of merges and alterations was kept. When not working on this app, I was also tasked with converting older applications to the current architecture while maintaining the same functionality and appearance. I also helped with individual facets of other applications here and there in my extra time (for example: making a small style sheet change to fix a jittery scrollbar bug). Show less
