My experience includes crisis stabilization, substance detox and rehabilitation, and work with the LGBTQ population. More times than not, these individuals present with co-occurring disorders (e.g., Schizoaffective disorder and Substance Use disorder). And many of them present with health issues, trauma, limited support systems, financial stress, and extensive legal histories. I facilitate individual and group counseling with a primary emphasis on medication compliance and tertiary prevention via psychoeducation and process sessions. I also meet the standards of documentation in a hospital setting, which is in compliance with the joint commission (JCAHO) and the department of children and families (DCF). Show less
