I was a certified Type 2 Wildland Firefighter. Worked with various equipment such as fire engines, chain saws, hand tools, and water pumps. I was able to work non-standard work schedules such as four 10-hour days, ten days on and four days off. Working with and being able to read topographic maps and a compass was very important. Always working as a team unit with constant situational awareness and communication was a must to stay safe in all working environments. I was a certified Type 2 Wildland Firefighter.
