For as long as I can remember I have had a creative need to "make stuff up." Every project as a theatre artist and educator has been tremendously rewarding. As a freelance artist, I have performed, directed, and instructed drama across Alberta. My love of improvised performance sits paramount. For over a decade I have been performing comedic improv with various troupes and continue to do so today. Most recently, I have joined Edmonton’s Grindstone Theatre in presenting their weekly improvised musical "The Eleven O'Clock Number”. The skill-set and rules behind improvised entertainment provide valuable tools to assist in the "real-world" training of students and business professionals. We learn best by experiencing. I have been facilitating realistic high-risk simulations with low-risk consequences for eight years (mostly with Lethbridge College's Criminal Justice programs). These students are our communities' future police, councillors, correction officers, doctors, conservation enforcement, and business professionals. Students and teachers continually express how these types of training scenarios can, and have, literally saved lives. Currently I am most excited about my work with Inrol: Custom Simulations and Training. Inrol offers customized simulation based training courses in leadership, customer service, difficult conversations, and more. Visit www.inrol.ca and get practicing those soft skills! Show less

Theatre Alberta is a Provincial Arts Service Organization (PASO) dedicated to the growth of Theatre in Alberta. Our not-for-profit registered charity is well recognized by its members, funders, and the provincial theatre community as a responsive organization that works diligently to protect and nurture theatre and theatre artists in Alberta. The growth of the organization over the past decade – as exemplified in our roster of programs and services, staff, and fiscal stability – has solidified our position as a leader in Alberta’s arts and cultural industry. In addition to providing communication and advocacy, we maintain the largest circulating script library in North America with over 23,000 titles, and we offer a variety of educational programs. It is a joy to work with this organization. Everyone at Theatre Alberta is a team player; we are big picture thinkers and share a hand in all that TA has to offer, and there is ALOT! As Program Coordinator it is my job to help facilitate our subsidized programs and connect theatre artists with the groups that need them. Visit www.theatrealberta.com to witness the scope of all that we do. Become a member, peruse the library catalogue, search the classifieds, request a workshop, or see what everyone else in the province is doing on stage through our Online Playbill. I am thankful to be utilizing my passion for arts and education everyday in the development of tremendous artists' opportunities at Theatre Alberta. We are theatre people We are theatre, people.
