Year one was spent at a communal training organization (Angus Training Group). Manual turning, milling and use of hand tools as well as inspection techniques were absorbed. One day a week was spent in Angus College, learning various aspects of engineering. On the job training at the Weatherford facility during years 2 and 3 included hands on experience in Design Office and Quality Assurance with time spent building and testing tooling with qualified Fitters. In a structured training program I was able to gain first hand experience of Mori Seki machine centres and utilise programming I had newly learned.
