This job involved designing Tooling for production equipment from scratch and adapting old tooling to meet new specifications. I worked directly with Product Engineers and Tool Makers in designing tooling for manufacturing new products. I was in charge of all of the NCR’s (Non Conformance Reports) for my tooling families. This task required me to make final decisions to “use as is” or “reject” parts and tooling that didn’t meet print and make appropriate changes to prints to remedy the situation or issue a Deviation Authorization allowing parts to be used as is. Building detailed BOM’s and document control where also key in being a well rounded designer.
