I worked on the Research Team, where I performed a mix of duties including rendering (using OpenGL and WebGL), multi-threading, and front-end web development.- Multi-threaded Tessellation support for real-time graphics- 3D LOD support for real-time graphics- Built Vectorworks' live sync API for syncing to a third-party raytracing renderer- Modernized old OpenGL 1.1 code to use OpenGL 3.3 and GLSL 1.50, then modernized this codebase with BGFX- Maintained third-party Vectorworks plugins, and delegated tasks and priorities to a third-party developer for certain plugins

I worked between the Research and User Interaction Teams. My work consisted of primarily anything concerning Front-End development.- Provided Alpha Transparency Support to many different areas of Vectorworks- Created a new Export Web View feature which allows for 3D viewing of models in any browser, and allows for viewing in Google Cardboard Virtual Reality on a mobile device- Provided support for 3rd Party Export plugins

I explored and developed a prototype for Point Cloud technologies for the Vectorworks software, which performed visualization of Point Clouds. This process also involved building large scale open source libraries to enable use of the Point Cloud Libraries, and using Microsoft Kinect as a device for obtaining scan data for the prototype. Other responsibilities included fixing major UI bugs for the upcoming 2015 release of Vectorworks, performing acceptance tests, creating a design document, and performing competitive analysis between other types of Point Cloud software.

I created new Python analysis tools to accompany existing MATLAB analysis tools. This was accomplished to expedite the Blue Force Validation Process. By creating these tools, the analysis data was significantly reduced, saving the APL and its sponsors weeks of waiting. I also worked closely in a team to generate data and analyze certain test cases using the Tactical Aegis Mission Planner. This effort validated specific ship positions for ground tests, and contributed to the overall design of the Mission Planner as a whole.

I used Java, JavaScript, WebGL, and HTML5 2D canvas to create web applications for Machine Tool Metrology. Applications include a 3D model of the machine tool, an animation of the machine tool in real time, an error simulation, and other applications the manufacturing industry would find helpful in its work. These applications would be prototypes for industry professionals so they can create their own applications to increase efficiency within the manufacturing industry.
