Natural Resource Officer

As a Natural Resource Officer, I have the responsibility of enforcing all applicable State laws along with State Park and Watercraft rules and regulations in a professional manner. I also complete investigations regarding crimes and incidents that have occurred on State owned property. These investigations often include outside agencies such as; local fire departments, local/county police agencies, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, local EMS agencies, and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations. I am also responsible for completing highly detailed and accurately written reports for incidents and criminal activity that I have investigated. These reports must describe the incident and/or crime in great detail as they may be used in a criminal or civil court case. I have the opportunity of interacting directly with the public everyday, not only in a law enforcement role but also in public relations. On a normal day I can go from assisting State Park visitors regarding questions and concerns about the Department of Natural Resources to assisting lost and/or missing hikers and boaters. Show less
