I am employed full time as the Captain and my role covers all aspects of managing and running the vessel for the family including engineering, financial responsibility, training, health and safety, hiring crew, crew requirements and maritime regulations. The vessel is used 12 months of the year and is always in a condition of readiness for the owner and their guests. We are based in Middle Harbour Sydney and cruise the east coast of Australia. A highly rewarding yet challenging appointment with the largest distributor of Princess Motor Yachts worldwide. I was responsible for many of the logistical areas from sales to delivery. This included: • Boat movements and handover of new and used stock worldwide • Attending boat shows in UK, USA and Europe e.g. Dusseldorf and Miami boat shows • Assisting sales staff and potential owners in the technical specification of vessels being purchased • Worldwide movement of craft for new sales, stock boats and private customers • Attending major ports to oversee loading and unloading of boats for distribution worldwide • Handover tuition and training to both owners and new crews • Systems training, analysing and diagnosing problems • Providing warranty support • Commissioning of new boats and sea trials • Attending training courses run by suppliers e.g. Raymarine, Furuno, MTU, MAN, Volvo and Caterpillar Coupled with this role, I was requested to run of the Chairman’s privately-owned Princess 88. This boat was based in the Mediterranean and constantly moved at the owners request to many destinations. I was contracted by Universal Maritime, a professional delivery company based in Plymouth, United Kingdom. They provide services to some of the world’s leading yacht builders, distributors, brokerage companies and private individuals who all demand an efficient and reliable service with full reporting on the vessel both during and after delivery. I had the opportunity to deliver many boats across Europe and the USA and assisted in all aspects of the boat delivery business. This included loading and dispatching vessels to and from the world’s leading yacht shipping companies in ports which required a full understanding of local laws and maritime authorities. Show less

I was solely responsible as Captain for all upkeep, Personnel Management and Maintenance. The 85 was sold in April 2011. From April 2011 to March 2012, I was responsible for managing the new build and commission of a Princess 98 Motor Yacht, delivered and operating out of UK waters since the early spring of 2012. During the period onboard, we covered most of Northern Europe, the US and British Virgin Islands including several other islands in the Caribbean. When it came to sale of the boat, I acted on behalf of the owner and assisted with transition of ownership to the new owner in the USA; completing the handover and systems training for the new crew in Miami. “ANELISA “was a privately owned Sunseeker Motor Yacht. I worked with the owner to oversee the build specification listing and the completion of the vessel build in the UK prior to its delivery. This included sea trials, working with the shipyard to ensure high workmanship and quality control. Upon completion I delivered the boat to Monaco. After nearly 2 years of running a very successful charter business based in the UK, I was approached by a private Danish owner to take full charge of a Sunseeker 82 based in France and Spain. I was responsible for all aspects of the vessel from general maintenance to crew selection and the full management of the boat within Charter Business itself. I stayed with this vessel for two seasons. Skipper - Round the World Yacht Race

After an intense 10-month selection process I was chosen to skipper 17 amateur yachtsmen and women in the Global Challenge Round the World Yacht Race. 12 identical boats racing 38,000 miles against the prevailing winds and currents west about around the globe. More than two and a half years of dedication to a flawless project we crossed the finish line in July 2005 in first place, having broken and set new records during the 10 month race. This was an incredible achievement given more than 70% of the crew were new to sailing. Along with the safety and general crew management this was a massive undertaking in team building and galvanising a group of people from different parts of the world and from all walks of life into a winning team. Many months spent prior to the race and a dedicated team building and sailing program set up and run by myself led to a victory in what is often referred to as one of the world’s toughest yacht races. Following the pursuit of employment in a variety of sectors and a secondary qualification, I decided it was time to move back onto the water. I updated all my relevant RYA/MCA qualifications and set up my own business offering skippering and tuition services to private clients. Whilst supplying a first class service privately I was also doing sea trials and deliveries for numerous top boat manufacturers and private clients across the UK and mainland Europe, the Mediterranean and the USA. Working with IBM mid-range and main frame computer systems, I was responsible for the main warehouse and fourteen satellite warehouses throughout the UK. The organisation was committed to twenty four hour, seven day a week support for more than 600 clients. Key achievement: After identifying areas for improvement, over a two year period I designed and implemented new systems to reduce logistic expenditure by over 30%. After arriving in the UK with my fiancé, I immediately sort work of a different nature. My intentions had always been to obtain a secondary professional qualification. Tesco invested in my personal development and assisted with my obtaining a degree qualification in Logistics. During my time at Tesco I was responsible for the management of over 200 staff and the successful running of a 500,000 sq. Ft. warehouse delivering dry stored goods to over 80 stores in the south of the UK. After arriving in the UK with my fiancé, I immediately sort work of a different nature.
