Interim Directors Ltd / Simply Internet Ltd, I made a minority investment and provided advice to help start Interim Directors Ltd in April 2002. With the company successfully established but an immature portfolio of Finance candidates on our books, I agreed to offer myself as candidate for an urgent 3-6 month interim assignment to a venture capital backed chain of 40 internet cafes in the UK and Spain. Simply Internet Ltd:Interim FD (4 months) then 11 months as Finance Director Following the summary dismissal of the previous discredited executive team, the VC backer, Smedvig Capital, mandated rapid imposition of financial control & restructuring. My full-time involvement was requested(hence the further period acting as Finance Director and the sale of my interest in Interim Directors). Smedvig also provided strong written testimony for my implementation of financial control and change management to support their objectives. Top three achievements: ➢ Re-staffed finance department and implemented timely KPI reporting ➢ Identified and eliminated onerous or inappropriate trading practices ➢ Expedited the closure of the two internet cafes in Spain and several of the worst performing sites within the UK Show less
