  The Great Western Society is based at the Didcot railway Centre which is a preserved steam locomotive shed that contains their collection of hundreds of items of historic rolling stock, buildings, and countless other items. This collection is open to the public and is a living museum that involves the overhaul, maintenance and operation of historic machinery that dates back as far as the mid-19th century. Responsible as a duty manager - responsible for overseeing operational open days where there is a proven record of accomplishment, swiftly and efficiently dealing with incidents and a reputation for effective management of the site. Formulating and planning for future developments to policy and planning for a successful future for the society and museum as a visitor attraction.
