I am constantly pouring drinks for the next day and brewing coffee. I serve either breakfast, lunch, or dinner every day, which requires me to interact with the residents upstairs, know their likes and dislikes, handle food, and even learn their names and personalities. I do a little bit of prep work, depending on what shift I work. This requires me to bake, prepare soup vegetables, salad vegetables, cut meat, potatoes, and various other tasks that give me a basic qualification in preparing food. I also am tasked daily with various forms of cleaning around the kitchen. This means I sweep and mop almost daily, wipe down counters and metal machinery, organize shelves, and most importantly as a dietary aide, wash dishes. My experience with and treatment of my "customers" as well as my hard work and dedication to the job at hand has earned me two Employee of the Month Awards, one in May of 2014 and the second in September of 2014. This award is given to an employee who is nominated by his/her coworkers and selected by the administration.
