Area Manager
-
Jan 2014 - Sep 2018
I originally managed 3 stores in the Melbourne CBD. In 2015 I was offered the opportunity to move to South Australia to set up and launch the ALDI business in the new market with a small cohort of 6 others. In the proceeding 2.5 years, I oversaw and assisted with the roll out of 26 additional stores. I personally managed four multimillion dollar stores in the south of Adelaide which each gross over ten million dollars annually. This included the following tasks: - Planning sales and driving KPI's; - Auditing financial transactions within each store; - Overseeing whole store inventory counts and reconciliation; and -Ensuring compliance and execution was maintained. This included auditing ACCC requirements and strictly following workplace health and safety guidelines. In 2017 my stores won three of the five category awards including regional winner, highest financial performer and the best culture award. As at August 2018 my area is ranked number one in South Australia and top ten (out of approximately 160 areas) nationally. Rankings considered multiple factors including, payroll management, inventory results, fresh losses, mystery shops, product availability, turnover and compliance. In addition to running my area, I was: - Executive Manager representative between the Purchasing and Logistics Departments. This involved co-ordinating internal projects, improving cross-departmental relationships and planning for seasonal uplift execution; - Head of recruitment and training. This included hiring over 300 staff. I also oversaw and facilitated the Future Leader Training program which was specifically designed for high performing staff; - Responsible for implementation and management of national and regional contractor supply agreements; - Region expert for the core range ordering system (C-GOS); - Operations lead for the logistics system overhaul which streamlined and implemented daily core range delivery to stores; Show less

I began as one of the original employees within this startup company which went on to be sold for several million dollars. During this time I was required to provide rapid responses to the public regarding any multitude of topics. I developed efficient research skills to provide the relevant information within limited time constraints. This required quick adaptation, creative thinking and precise attention to detail.
