Bio
Ian Clark
Andy is a fantastic manager and technical architect. He truly leads by example, with a superb work ethic and commitment to deliver large scale projects on time. His approach to management is based on trust, something which all members of the team responded very well to. His ability to manage the differing concerns of stakeholders and propose compromises where required is commendable. Whilst at MyOptique Group, I found Andy to always be particularly friendly and approachable. I would strongly recommend Andy for all technical managerial roles. I have no doubt in his ability to lead teams of any size to deliver successful solutions on time and within budget.
Chris Wales
It is nearly impossible to overstate how intelligent and innovative Andy is. I have previously described him as the "Sherlock Holmes" of development, because his unique ability to understand the connection between disparate parts of a system, elaborate on its most obscure attributes at a moment's notice, and see threads of code and their consequences where others are left scratching their heads is nothing short of genius. Andy makes it his business to know everything there is to know about the systems he works on, the industry he works in and the tools and practices he works with. He constantly updates his knowledge to incorporate cutting-edge technology and puts forward watertight solutions to problems with reason and conviction. In all the time that I have put questions to him, I have never yet found an angle or avenue that he has not considered and accounted for. Andy is one of these few individuals in the world for whom the label "gifted" genuinely applies. I wouldn't hesitate to work with him again; and if you ever see his name on a list of potential candidates, sign him before someone else does.

I was recruited into a start-up fintech company to lead the technology and engineering team with the specific task of rearchitecting the applications design, infrastructure and continuous build process to enable scale and resiliency to the existing ‘advanced prototype’ of the software. I was responsible for leading a team of developers through this re-architecture plan, using microservices and restful web service design in a containerised landscape orchestrated with kubernetes on the AWS platform to enable future growth for the company.
