Before my senior year began, The upper school principal of my school asked me if I would take part in an "International Mentorship," made to help students from overseas accommodate with the new culture they were stepping into. I accepted and I was paired with an international high school student from China. I aided him in his transition into life here in Florida and attended social events with the entire mentorship group. These events included going to famous locations here in Florida (ICON Park, Universal Orlando Studios), and taking them to supermarkets and restaurants. Show less

Technical Director

During my time at The First Academy, I was awarded the role of Technical Director for my experience with the equipment in our film class. My job featured duties such as supervising camera equipment usage and assisting with filming on location. As well as keeping a detailed inventory of all the equipment we had in our possession. My favorite part of my job, however, was that I was given the opportunity to edit the news show at our school, "Raw Footage," before it was released.
