Dr. Andres Parra joined the Fitzpatrick lab at the end of 2012. He is mainly interested in understanding the monosynaptic connections underlying orientation and direction selectivity in single layer 2/3 pyramidal neurons of the primary visual cortex. His project employs techniques such as in vivo patch clamp and viral infection, as well as multiphoton calcium imaging. Dr. Parra's work could provide new insights into the functional organization of the primary visual cortex. Dr. Andres Parra joined the Fitzpatrick lab at the end of 2012.
