I seek to acquire accessible books that appeal to a broad audience in the fields of gender and sexuality studies, American studies, and Latin American and Caribbean studies. Across all my lists, I am interested in work from a wide range of disciplines and methodologies that are attentive to the workings of power and engage with questions of race, class, gender, sexuality, disability, colonialism, citizenship, and migration. Of particular interest are queer histories, especially trans and lesbian histories, and other work that centers the agency, experience, and knowledge of marginalized people. As an editor, I am indebted to genealogies of feminist and queer of color writing and publishing that insist our truths be known when our experiences and knowledge are rendered unrecognizable and illegible. This informs my relationship to both the books I publish and the people who write them. I aim to collaborate with authors through all stages of the development and publication of their work and be a resource to them as we demystify the publishing process. Show less
