Launch and Continuous Improvement Manager - Chilworth Saliva Testing Programme
-
Mar 2021 - Mar 2022
The £120 million DHSC-NHS Pathfinder Programme aims to create a robotic, COVID testing laboratory, capable of processing 72,000 tests per day. I was responsible for project managing the commissioning, launch and continuous improvement of all 6 laboratories in the testing facility. Responsible for reporting commissioning and improvement results to senior stakeholders, including: CEO, clinical lead, operations management, IT systems and automation lead. I led a diverse team: a post- doctorate biologist, 2 business analysts, mechanical engineer and a lean six-sigma specialist. I have developed an adaptable communication style which enables me to manage individuals from a wide range of backgrounds. Key achievements include: improving the operational efficiency by 300%, saving the programme an estimated £1 million through process improvement. Show less

Sabdah was a start up I co-founded with my academic supervisors to commercialise an optical fibre vibration sensor I invented during my PhD. The fibre had a performance 100x better than commercial alternatives. I successfully negotiated a rental and licensing agreement from the University. I was responsible for all business functions as well as developing the technology. This include: business planning; financial planning and forecasting; project managing R&D; investor pitching; business development; contract drafting / review; and supply chain management. During the 3 years I evolved the technology from TRL 1 to TRL 6. I project managed a team of 7 interns taking the idea from a proof-of-concept, through to a minimum viable product. Led business development generating 15 leads. Collaborated with the US Navy Research Labs to develop and test the product for military applications. Show less

Completed Deloitte’s consulting graduate analyst training programme. Worked on 3 projects: London 2012 Olympics; a leading UK and global retailer’s Forecasting and Ordering Programme; and the same retailer’s Buying Plan Project. Completed the same role as graduate analyst: completing project management; risk analysis; data processing; and running workshop interviews with clients. I continued to work for the company throughout university, completing 12 months cumulative experience in the firm’s Tax and Audit arms, as well as further consulting projects. From the experience I developed my Waterfall project management skillset . Show less
