Andrei came to World Internships looking to gain real-world professional experience in the hospitality management field. He wanted to learn as much as possible about operating a hotel, truly immerse himself in Italian culture and improve his Italian language skills. After an impressive interview it was clear that Andrei was going to thrive at his internship at Your Place in Florence and in his new host city Florence. At Your Place in Florence, Andrei assisted the tight-knit team with all aspects of operating the many guest houses. This included the preparation of all guest rooms, working with the hotel staff to ensure a consistent high quality standard. Andrei was in charge of guest check-ins and went above and beyond in his role by providing extensive support as guests arrived, giving a full orientation of their rooms, the surrounding area and all that Florence has to offer to ensure each guest had an incredible stay. He was extremely capable within his responsibilities but he showed that he was a team-player by running all of the operations on his own for a week while his colleagues were away. Not only did Andrei prove that he could successfully operate the guest houses independently, but he received incredible feedback from all of the guests he hosted during that time. His ability to problem solve, learn quickly and provide an exceptional level of customer service made Andrei a true asset to his team! Andrei has impressed us with his professionalism, work-ethic and spirit. He approached every new challenge with a positive attitude and dedication. Even though he arrived knowing little about Florence, he spent his first week learning as much as he could about the city and was ultimately able to be extremely helpful to his guests. This shows that Andrei truly goes above and beyond in everything that he does.
