The 9-week internship programme with COMOTI, the Romanian Research and Development Institute for Gas Turbines, consisted in individual study, research and laboratory work. It helped me consolidate the notion of composite material, rotor, rotor type geometry and rotor blade, self-healing polymers both theoretically and practically. During the time spent in the laboratory I could observe the steps of a polymerization cycle and take part in the experimental procedure. I was also given the chance to better understand how an autoclave works and I was shown how mechanical, resistance and vibrational tests are done.Overall, the internship programme has been a complex and interesting development experience that helped me get a clearer insight into my professional future and the next steps in my future career.
