      My main research interest were concepts and techniques in the field of model-driven software engineering. As industries are increasingly interested in the methodology of model-driven software development, maintenance cost of related artifacts, models and transformations, come to a closer focus. I worked on two distinct approaches that help to improve the maintainability of model transformations, one proactive and one reactive approach. My proactive approach improves language design of model transformation languages by introducing modular concepts that are tailored to this specific domain. My reactive approach exploits interactive visual analytics paired with static code analysis to improve the efficiency of maintainers who need to carry out maintenance tasks.
