Teach students, both at the high school and the ABE program, help out, do what needs doing, have fun doing it. We are a small school, so I wear many hats: Instructor (Math, Social Studies, Woodshop Projects), Transition Specialist, Transportation guy, School Nurse (yeah, not really, we actually have a nurse, but she is not in the building.)

My personal mission as academic advisor/teacher is to ensure that all my students graduate on time and learn the skills they will need to be successful in the future. I try to evaluate everything I do in light of this mission. Our student population is very diverse, with many of them facing difficult challenges. I see my role as the caring adult in their lives who does never give up on them and who is always there to help. Working with our senior class in the 2017/18 school year, I increased our graduation rate from an average of nine students to more than 20, with 15 graduating on time.

I planned and implemented instruction in all Social Studies subjects with the exception of Psychology. I successfully taught in a very diverse, urban school setting, working with "at risk" students who often had experienced little success in their previous education. I also advised juniors and seniors and led the effort to ensure that all our students had the chance to attend college.
