Andrea has 28 years experience of working in the construction industry, specialising in contract drafting, providing contractual advice, dispute resolution, adjudication and the commercial management of complex projects. Her experience includes: contract drafting specialising in all standard forms of contract including the full suite of NEC and JCT contracts; procurement strategy workshops and advice; review of and advice regarding contract terms; contract and construction law training; the preparation and defence of claims; preparation of documentation for adjudication including drafting Notices and Referrals; representation at adjudication hearings; valuation of variations and final accounts; analysis of extensions of time and valuation of loss & expense; and commercial advice on target cost/open book contracts. Most recently, Andrea has completed drafting the first Alliance contract to be used in the higher education building sector for Sheffield Hallam University. Working with the Client from inception stage, Andrea has developed the NEC4 Alliance contract with bespoke amendments through contract negotiation with the three Partners to final execution of the contract. Andrea has worked in numerous sectors of the construction industry including education, commercial, leisure, stadiums, airports, power stations, rail, sea ports, residential developments and social housing. Andrea's experience has been gained through working for clients, main contractors, subcontractors, employers, and quantity surveying practices. Andrea has an MSc in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution and was awarded the Keating Chambers Prize for achieving the highest grade in her cohort in 2017. Andrea is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
