Facilitated Arrowsmith Program for students with learning disabilities. Arrowsmith Program is a cognitive exercise program which identifies weak areas of the brain and stimulates the area with intensive exercise. Students leave the program with an increased capacity to learn without compensatory strategies for support. Worked with young adults who have been struggling with the LD and the impact it has had on their lives. Counselling for emotional/psychological support, as well as career counselling and support for further education was a key element of my role as an instructor with the students. Students completed their Arrowsmith Program not only with an increased ability to learn from a cognitive perspective, but also with an ability to advocate for themselves, to communicate more effectively and with a greater self esteem. Data analysis of student performance to problem-solve and set goals for program development. Year end assessment protocols administered by using both standardized test measures as well as web-based designed testing modules. Report writing and parent/student meetings to communicate progress in the program and to develop next steps. Show less
